چکیده

Within the genus Centaurea L., polyploidy is very common, and it believed that, as to all angiosperms, was key in history of its diversification evolution. tentudaica a hexaploid from subsect. Chamaecyanus unknown origin. In this study, we examined possible autopolyploid or allopolyploid origin using allozymes sequences three molecular markers: nuclear-ribosomic region ETS, low-copy genes AGT1 PgiC. We also included species geographically morphologically close C. tentudaica: amblensis, galianoi, ornata. Neighbor-Net Bayesian analyses show relationship between amblensis no any other species, which suggest that an amblensis. Allozyme banding pattern supports autopolyploidy hypothesis shows high levels genetic diversity polyploid, could multiple origins by recurrent crosses tetraploid diploid cytotypes Environmental niche modeling used analyze distribution parental during present, Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), Interglacial Period (LIG), Penultimate (PGM) environmental conditions. Supporting suggestions originated confirms past overlapped with tentudaica.

Genetic diversity of the narrow endemic Astragalus oniciformis (Fabaceae).

Astragalus oniciformis Barneby is a narrow endemic xerophyte of the upper Snake River Plain of central Idaho, USA, where it inhabits stabilized, aeolian sand deposits and previously burned, sandy sites over Quaternary basalt flows. The objective of this study was to determine the levels and distribution of genetic differentiation within and among populations of A. oniciformis. Fifteen individua...

High unexpected genetic diversity of a narrow endemic terrestrial mollusc

The Iberian Peninsula has an extensive record of species displaying strong genetic structure as a result of their survival in isolated pockets throughout the Pleistocene ice ages. We used mitochondrial and nuclear sequence data to analyze phylogeographic patterns in endemic land snails from a valley of central Portugal (Vale da Couda), putatively assigned to Candidula coudensis, that show an ex...

Speciation and genetic diversity in Centaurea subsect. Phalolepis in Anatolia

Mountains of Anatolia are one of the main Mediterranean biodiversity hotspots and their richness in endemic species amounts for 30% of the flora. Two main factors may account for this high diversity: the complex orography and its role as refugia during past glaciations. We have investigated seven narrow endemics of Centaurea subsection Phalolepis from Anatolia by means of microsatellites and ec...
